Our activities that began with the organized session at the 2015 Spatial Statistics conference concluded recently with the publication of the new paper "Emerging Patterns in Multi-Sourced Data Modeling Uncertainty" in the Spatial Statistics journal. The paper combined the joint efforts of the session participants in their corresponding domains of expertise under an insightful investigation of uncertainty in spatial and space-time modeling.

Earlier in 2016, we also made a constructive impact in a different application field of high interest. Specifically, our successful research engagement in the vibrant area of Real Estate research bore fruit as we published a space-time analysis study of house prices.

The latter research was performed in collaboration with Dr. Darren Hayunga (Terry College of Business, University of Georgia) who is an expert in House Pricing and Real Estate Economics. Our real estate work was welcomed at the annual American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association annual conference that took place in San Francisco in January 2016. The corresponding paper from this collaboration, called "Geostatistical space–time mapping of house prices using Bayesian maximum entropy", was published at the International Journal of Geographic Information Science.

New Activities Update

In News: Septmber 14, 2015

Following the successful session organization at the 2015 Spatial Statistics conference Avignon, France, last June 9-12, SpaceTimeWorks will be also present at the 1st first international conference on Quantification of Uncertainty in Engineering, Sciences and Technology (QUEST) conference in Beijing this October 19-21. Dr. Alexander Kolovos will be making an oral presentation in the Environmental Health and Space-Time Epidemiology session of the conference.

In addition to the conference activities, Dr. Kolovos will be making a second presentation at the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. 2015 Conference Schedule

This year, SpaceTimeWorks will be present at the Spatial Statistics conference that takes place in Avignon, France between June 9-12. Dr. Alexander Kolovos will be organizing a session titled "Multi-Sourced Data Modelling In Conditions of Uncertainty", joined by the co-organizers and SpaceTimeWorks collaborators Prof. Patrick Bogaert and Dr. Andreas Langousis.

According to the conference website, the theme for the 2015 Spatial Statistics conference is Emerging Patterns, and it will highlight trends on various topics such as new sources of spatial data, predictive modelling, disease mapping, hazards, disasters and risks, climate change and tipping points. In this context, our session will specifically explore new applications and efficient theoretical tools to illustrate the intradisciplinary character in recent field advances as well as their efficiency in tackling uncertainty.

Joining us in the presentations, our session will feature cutting-edge research in spatial and spatiotemporal analysis with contributions from research groups at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, the National University of Taiwan, the Université Catholique de Louvain in  Belgium, and the University of California San Diego.

SpaceTimeWorks, LLC at conferences in 2014

Join us at the Joint Statistical Meetings 2014 (JSM2014) conference this year for an exciting roundtable session presented by Dr. Alexander Kolovos. Specifically, you can register for Dr. Kolovos's roundtable titled "The Continuing Impact of Spatiotemporal Statistics" sponsored by the American Statistical Association Section on Physical And Engineering Sciences. JSM2014 will be held in Boston, MA between August 2-7, 2014.

In addition, later this year SpaceTimeWorks organizes a session at the 16th Conference of the International Association for Mathematical Geosciences (organized by IAMG), to be held between Octover 17-20 in New Delhi, India. In particular, our session is simply titled "Spatiotemporal Modelling" and targets the more focused topic of methodological progress and modeling applications in space-time data analysis.

Once more, SpaceTimeWorks illustrates actively its continuing support of scientific exchange in the expert domain of space-time data analysis, and we hope to see and meet you at these events!

In more detail regarding the above conferences, JSM (the Joint Statistical Meetings) is the largest gathering of statisticians held in North America. It is held jointly with the American Statistical Association, the Institute of Mathematical Statistics, the International Biometric Society (ENAR and WNAR), the International Chinese Statistical Association, the International Indian Statistical Association, the International Society for Bayesian Analysis, the Korean International Statistical Society, the Royal Statistical Society, and the Statistical Society of Canada.

SpaceTimeWorks will be present at two events at the Joint Statistical Meetings 2013 conference to be held in Montréal, Québec in Canada between August 3-8, 2013. Specifically, SpaceTimeWorks owner Dr. Alexander Kolovos organizes a topic-contributed session with title "International Perspectives in Advanced Methodologies for Spatiotemporal Information Processing". Also, Dr. Kolovos will be hosting a morning roundtable discussion with title "Boost Your Spatiotemporal Data Analysis With Physical Knowledge". Both sessions are sponsored by the American Statistical Association Section on Physical And Engineering Sciences. Through these activities SpaceTimeWorks illustrates its commitment to supporting scientific dialogue and bringing together experts at space-time statistics.
